At a meeting of the Altar Society in December a number of ladies volunteered to sort and package clothing received during the Thanksgiving clothing drive. The clothing will be sent to the Catholic relief organization in New York and then distributed to needy countries.
The Rev. Norbert King gave a talk on a "Code of Conduct" for teenagers.
Cards were played and a lunch was served by the luncheon committee: Mrs. Alex Loos, Mrs. Gilbert Loos, Mrs. Alvin Miller, Mrs. Richard Miles, Mrs. Alfred Meyer, and Mrs. Matt Merlak.
The Methodist Young Fellowship of the Loyal Methodist Church held a pancake and sausage supper for members of the church in the parish hall last week Tuesday evening. After the supper an auction was held with William Oestreich acting as auctioneer. Harvest festival gifts were auctioned and the proceeds of the supper and the auction will go into the church building fund.
The birthday club met Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. W. I. Mack; Christmas readings were given. There were 12 members present and one guest. After the business meeting a potluck luncheon was served.
A Holy hour was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for the priests of the Clark-Jackson Deanery.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sterr had as their guests recently their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Will and children of Beaver Dam, Rebecca Will of Minneapolis, and Dr. and Mrs. C. S. Lee of Iola.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hales spent the recent holidays with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Myrle (Missing words).
