Runaway Horse (23 Oct 1913)
Last Thursday afternoon, John McCarls’s horse indulged in a brief runaway, starting from in front of Dr. Matheson’s office and winding up at the corner of Mead’s livery barn. Mr. McCarl was not in the rig at the time, but Mrs. Marion Conlin occupied the buggy and by strenuous efforts kept the frightened horse in the street until it was stopped at Mead’s livery. Other than being badly shaken up and frightened, Mrs. Conlin was none the worse for her rapid ride.
