LOYAL
-- Mary L. Denk, 98, of Loyal died at the Guiding Hand home, in
Marshfield, on Monday, Jan. 3,
2011.
Funeral
services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church
in Loyal. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's
Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Cuddie
Funeral Home in Loyal, with a 7 p.m. rosary service. Visitation
also will be at the church Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of
service.
Mary
Lauretta Scherer was born July 2, 1912, in Jonesdale, the daughter
of George Sr. and Anna (Ducey) Scherer. She was united in marriage
to Leonard F. Denk on Nov. 23, 1935, at St. Mary's Catholic Church
in
Greenwood.
They
lived in the Clark County area until purchasing their own farm just
north of Loyal in 1946. In 1958, they bought the A&W Root Beer
stand in Loyal, which they owned until 1972. In 2003, they moved
into
Loyal.
She is
survived by her children, Sharon (Allen) Schoonover of Loyal, Diane
(Gerald) Anderegg of Loyal, LaVonne (Charles) Dragon of Hamilton,
Ohio, Patricia Denk of Marshfield, Kathleen (Lawrence) Hutchinson
of Stratford, Linda (Robert) Newcomer of Woodbridge, Va., Jeffrey
(Kate) Denk of Long Beach, Calif., and Gordon Denk of Marshfield;
33 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; six
great-great-grandchildren.
She was
preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, on May 6,
2007.
