Kevin M. Eckes, 32, Marshfield, died on Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at the Drake House, Marshfield, where he had resided for the past 6 years. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, Oct. 24, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield. Music was provided by Suzanne Golden, organist, and Mike Gonering, Vocalist. The Rev. James J. Logan officiated. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Pallbearers were Jason Hofmann, Michael Heil, Josh Sabo, Aaron Post, David Post and Jeremiah Hagen.

 

Kevin Michael Eckes was born on Oct. 30, 1969, in Marshfield, to Robert J. and Donna M. (nee Heil) Eckes. He attended Grant and Madison grade schools in Marshfield and graduated from Marshfield High School. He worked at various places in Marshfield, including Wolf’s Grocery Store, The Casa Loma Restaurant, and Opportunities Development Center. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts Troop #345 of Marshfield, Special Olympics and the Advocate for the Developmentally Disabled. His interests included country music, swimming and the Green Bay Packers.

 

Survivors include his parents, Robert and Donna Eckes, Marshfield; one brother, Brian (Angela) Eckes, Greenwood; His paternal grandmother, Martha Eckes, Marshfield; and aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

 

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandfather and his maternal grandparents.

 

Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home, Marshfield, assisted the family with arrangements.
