Harkness, Victor (01 NOV 1911-31 AUG 2002)
Victor J. Harkness, 90, Amery, died on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2002, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11"30, Sept. 5, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Amery. The Rev. John Drummy, Deacon and Larry Bauer officiated. Burial was in Holy Rosary Cemetery. His sons served as pallbearers and his daughters and their spouces were honorary pallbearers.
Victor Joseph Harkness was born on Nov. 1, 1911, in Coggan, Iowa, to Hugh and Josephine Harkness. He spent a short time in Oregon before moving to Polk County, where he farmed for many years. He married Betty Jane Tendrup on Oct. 16, 1987, in Balsam Lake. His interests included hunting and fishing with family and friends in Canada and Wisconsin.
Survivors include seven sons, James (Lori) Livingston, Jon (Brenda) Livingston, Jerry (Pam) Livingston, Jene (Debbie) Livingston, Charles (Paulette) Livingston, Jay (Mary) Livingston, and Craig (Nora) Livingston; four daughters, Julie Frank Pollard, Jan (David) Holland, Heidi (Daryl) Linder, and Jodi (John) Elmgren; 27 grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Keller; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Betty; his parents; and three brothers, Elmer, Hughy, and Arthur.
Williamson Funeral Home, Amery, assisted the family with arrangements.
