Kingery, Clifford  (26 JAN 1926-07 OCT 2002)

 

Clifford R. Kingery, 76, Unity, died on Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held in California at a later date.

 

Clifford Kingery was born on Jan. 26, 1926, in Kimbal, S.D., to Fred and Mayme (nee Cunningham)Kingery. He attended school in South Dakota. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War ll. His first marriage was to Verly Kruse and they later divorced. He then married Lorrie Carpenter on Dec. 2, 1966. After serving in the Navy, he was a plumbing supervisor in Chicago until 1985, when he moved to California and worked for TRW until he retired. They moved to Unity three years ago. He was a member of Local 130 in Chicago, Colby VFW Post 2227, and Unity American Legion Post 358.

 

Survivors included his wife, Lorrie, Unity; seven children, Rick Kingery, Colorado, Michael Kingery, Escondido, Calif., Judy (Phil) Staton, Escondido, Calif., Laura (Jim) Weiler, San Diego, Calif., Cindy (Dave) Osterloh, La Mesa, Calif., Mark Edblom, San Diego, Calif, and Clifford (Joan) Kingery, San Diego, Calif.; eight grandchildren; one brother, Paul (Joyce) Kingery, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and two sisters, Betty (Ray) Weiser, Omaha, Neb., and Ruby (Glen) Woods, Federal Way, Wash.

 

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Jim Kingery; one daughter, Linda Sloan; one brother, Fred Kingery Jr.; and one sister, Ruth McGinnis.

 

Community Funeral Home, Colby, is assisting the family with arrangements.
