Geerts, Jeffrey (October 31, 1988 - December 28, 2010)

Jeffrey Geerts, 22, Abbotsford, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, in a New Orleans warehouse fire.

Geerts was born Ocotber 31, 1988, in Winchester, Ontario, Canada, to Jack Geerts and Mirjam van der Veeken. 

He graduated from Abbotsford High School in 2007. He enjoyed the saxophone and guitar. He also enjoyed working with computers, animals and traveling. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Yvonne Geerts, Madison, and Joe Geerts, Appleton; his parental grandparents, Nell and Bert Geerts, Teteringen, the Netherlands; and his maternal grandparents, Annie and Rinus van der Veeken, Rijen, the Netherlands.

A memorial service to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held Saturday, January 8, at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford. All friends are welcome to attend.
