Kramer, Marie V. (Carpenter) (October 9, 1920 - November 18, 2010)

 

Marie V. Kramer, 90, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2010, at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mt. Calvary.

 

Marie was born in Withee, WI on October 9, 1920, a daughter of the late Frank and Cathryn (Pommerich) Carpenter.


On November 22, 1945, Marie married Myron "Mike" Kramer in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Abbotsford WI. 


Marie is a graduate of Abbotsford High School and graduated with a teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.  She was then employed as an elementary teacher in a variety of public schools. 


Marie was a member of the St. Louis Church St. Anne Society, Holy Family Parish, the Fond du Lac Safety Council and Right to Life activities. 


She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, best bread maker in Fond du Lac County, kneading many loaves for church events, children and grandchildren.  She always had cookies waiting for visitors and her hands were always busy baking or crocheting for her family.  Marie was an avid golfer, with a hole in one at age 75. 


She loved to travel with her husband throughout the United States.   Marie and Mike also traveled to England, France and Rome where they saw the Pope. 


Survivors are three daughters, Sue (Jim) Wimberger, Rhinelander, WI, Elise (Gregg) Sippel, Mt. Calvary, WI and Ann (John) Giese, Fond du Lac, WI; five sons - Michael, Manitowish Waters, WI, Greg, Fond du Lac, WI, Tom (Barb), Manitowish Waters, WI, Paul (Julie), Spencer, WI and  Chuck, (special friend Therese Umbach) Manitowish Waters, WI; special son-in-law Tom Schabel and wife Kristi, Alexandria, MN; and daughter- in- love, Colleen Kramer, Fond du Lac, WI.


Twenty-eight grandchildren, Chris (Terri) Wimberger, Brian (Jill) Wimberger, Kate (Darren)Wimberger-Meyer, Jude (Heather) Wimberger, Jim (Kelly)Kramer, Tony (Trudy) Kramer, Renee Kramer, Jena (Bill) Nolan, Brian (Brenda) Bestor, Brad (Stacy) Bestor, Joe (Nicki) Schabel. Steve (Jessie)Schabel, Tayler Kaufman,  Jaime Menoyo, Michelle Kramer, Hana, Khia, and Tara Kramer, Judah and Jedediah Burdick, Kristi (Jeremiah) Guy, Erin (Brad) Peck, Megan (Travis) Dahm, Elisabeth (Ryan) Crowl, Jonathan, Matthew, Jeanna and B.J. Giese,, Kirsten and Rachel Umbach.


Thirty two great-grandchildren, Isabele, Lucas, Greta, and Peter Wimberger, Olivia Wimberger, Cooper and Grayson Meyer, Eliana and Anisa Wimberger, Rachel Kramer, Emily Kramer, Casey, Tasha, Paige and David  Lundberg , Halle Kramer, Zach, McKenzie and Bo Bestor, Benjamin, Bryce and Bray Bestor, Colton and Sonya Schabel, Landon, Eric and Westley Schabel, Angela and Christopher Menoyo, Joshua and Caleb Guy and Finley Crowl.


She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Pat (Frank) Carpenter; Doris (Clarence) Carpenter; Alice (Walter) Hopperdietzel, Rosalind (Clarence) Kramer; and many nieces and nephews.


Preceding her in death were her loving husband for 49 years, Myron (Mike) Kramer; daughter, Janine Schabel, grandson, Michael, brothers, Frank Carpenter, Clarence Carpenter and sisters, Evelyn (Bill) Young; Ione (Leonard) Vandehey, Cathryn (Arlyn) Brunkhorst,  brothers-in-law, Bill Young, Leonard Vandehey, Arlyn Brunkhorst, Walter Hopperdietzel, Clarence Kramer, Vernon Kramer, sister-in-law, Myrtle Kramer.


The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at Holy Family Parish Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac. 


A Memorial Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, December 4, at 11:00 am.  Deacon Larry Hughes will preside.  Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Fond du Lac.


In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed to: Giese Family Fund for the Study of Neurological Infections (Rabies); Wisconsin Right to Life; Villa Loretto; Common Ground Sober House.
