Elpert, John G. (10 JUL 1873 - 11 AUG 1952)
John Gerhard Elpert, 79, died at his home, Loyal (Clark Co. Wis.), R. 2, at 6 p.m., Aug. 11, 1952 of old age complications.
Funeral services will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Thursday, Aug. 14, at 9 a.m., the Rev. Norbert King officiating.
A general rosary service was held at the Myre Funeral Home at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
John Elpert was born at Festina, Iowa, July 10, 1873. He was married to Mary Tieskoetter, Feb. 7, 1911, at Festina, Iowa. After his married he moved to a farm near Medford in 1911. In 1929 he moved to a farm near Withee (Clark Co.), in 1941 he lived on a farm at Abbotsford, and in 1914 he moved to the farm near Loyal which was his last place of residence.
His wife died Sept. 15, 1945. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John (Irma) Anderson, Colby, and Mrs. Edward (Ida) Goodwin, Oconomowoc, and five sons, Arnold of Abbotsford, Ewald at Frankfort, Ind., and Walter, Joe, and Frances at home.
There are 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, and one brother, ben Elpert of Festina, Iowa, who survive him. One brother and one sister are deceased.
