Krueger, Leslie (Murder Charge - 10 FEB 1919)
Will Be Tried on Murder Charge
Leslie Krueger, draft evader, was brought to Neillsville last Tuesday from Camp Grant by a soldier guard and is now in the Clark county jail awaiting trial with his mother and brother on a charge of murder. Leslie Krueger has been at Camp Grant for some time where he was being held as a draft evader.
Government authorities thought it best to have him tried at Neillsville on a charge of murder as the evasion charge carries a much lighter sentgence than he will receive if convicted on the murder charge. He will be given a preliminary hearing soon and in all probability will be bound over to the circuit court.
