Granton Personals (1 September 1938)

 

Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Treu of Sheboygan were weekend guests at the Geo. Beaver home. They left Tuesday for a trip down the Mississippi River to Dubuque, Iowa, returning to Chicago for the balance of the week before going to their home in Sheboygan.  Mrs. Treu is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Beaver.

 

Arthur Kaulus of Chicago, was a Sunday visitor at the George Beaver home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Treu, Mrs. Ed Meyers and Mrs. G. Beaver, were visitors at the Marshfield Fair on Labor Day.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Mandgam of Neillsville were weekend guests at the George Beaver home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Spaete and family were weekend visitors at Rice Lake where Mr. Spaete did a little fishing and landed a number of good size fish.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Billman and family spent the weekend at Eagle River, Wisconsin where they visited with Mrs. Billman’s brother and his family.

 

Mr. A. Reinert, Sr. and Mrs. Joe Bissig of Wisconsin Rapids visited at the Granton Sentinel and at the editor’s home one day last week.  Mr. Reinert, Sr., is the father and Mrs. Bissig is the sister of the editor.

 

Mrs. Catherine Mahlka, and Larry Sieger, Madison, have been guests at the Mrs. Anna Rose home.

 

Messrs. Ray Urbans and Donald Simmelink, instructors in our local school are making their home at the E. Beeckler home for the present school year.

 

Mr. Joe Summers of Gary, Indiana, arrived Sunday for a weekend visit with his family in the Lloyd Manley home.  Mrs. Summers will care for the Manley children during their mother’s stay at the hospital.

 

Miss Vivian Winter who worked for Mrs. Lloyd Manley went home Sunday.  She is a senior in the Neillsville High School.

 

Martin Rosandich is staying at the Manley home and attending school here.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Truman Davis, Mrs. Breese and Mrs. Fuller, had dinner with the former’s son, Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Davis and family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keller moved to Madison last week Wednesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Price Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Kellogg, had dinner Sunday with the former’s sister, Mrs. Frank Dubes and family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Kellogg left for Milwaukee where Mrs. Bradley will teach this year.

 

Mrs. Truman Davis called on Mrs. Price Mallory and baby Saturday afternoon.

 

Mrs. Beatrice Kelly and daughter arrived Friday and will have the same rooms they had last year in the Mrs. Minnie downer house now owned by Mrs. Herman Schoengarth.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Van Kayser and family called at the Lloyd Manley home one evening last week.

 

Mrs. Breese and daughter, Mrs. Truman Davis spent last Wednesday afternoon with their cousin, Mrs. Hatt Hayden.

 

Mrs. Price Mallory and baby James Alton came home from the local Clinic last Wednesday.

 

Mrs. G. H. Bergemann, Grant and Eileen took Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Manley to Madison Thursday, where Mrs. Manley entered the General Hospital for observation and treatment.

 

Mrs. Joe Sumers and sons took supper with Mr. and Mrs. Art Lautenbach last week Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Al Carmody accompanied the Herman Schoengarth family to their cottage Thursday.

 

Mr. A. M. Wengel came out from Marshfield to help his wife and children move into the house vacated by Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson. Mrs. Wengel is out depot agent.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Mott Osgood, hope, Fay Jean and Clay Converse autoed to Racine for a weekend visit.

 

Mrs. Fuller spent several days at eh Breese-Davis home.

 

Mrs. Gertrude Gilbertson, accompanied by Mr. Chas. Neinas, took the remains of Mr. Coshir of Chili to Lake Mills for burial on Labor Day.

 

Little Nan Jean Thomas of Neillsville was a weekend guest of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Amidon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Glen McKee of Wisconsin Rapids were callers at the Carl Storm home Sunday afternoon and evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Greeler of Neillsville; Mrs. Florence Rupprecht and Albert Mueller of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Glenn McKee of Wis. Rapids were 6:00 o’clock dinner guests at the Carl Storm home Sunday.  Mrs. Rupprecht is a sister to Mrs. Storm.

 

Mrs. Albert Trossen and daughters Elaine and Joan, and Miss Helen K (name blurred), all of Sheboygan, were dinner and supper guests Thursday at the Carl Storm home. Mrs. Trossen is a sister to Mrs. Storm.

 

Mr. Albert Trossen of Sheboygan came up Saturday afternoon to call at the Wm. Storm home and take Mrs. Trossen and children back to their home in Sheboygan.
