Adam John Skora, 66, N11773 Resewood Ave., Greenwood, WI, died Saturday, September 7, 1996, at 6:36 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Hospice Care Unit, Marshfield.
Adam was born February 9, 1930 to Peter and Mary (Stawarz) Skora, in Chicago, Ill., where he was raised. After graduating from Foreman High School in 1948 he entered Chicago City Jr. College and graduated in 1950. He then entered Mac Cormac College, at the same time he took evening courses at Northwestern and DePaul Universities. He graduated in 1951 with a business Administration degree. He then served in the U. S. Army from September 1952 until March 1953 overseas in Korea. Adam and Kathleen Craver were united in marriage October 12, 1957 in Chicago, IL. After the service he held various jobs in bookkeeping, office management, and cost accounting until 1965. In 1965 they moved to Greenwood and bought a farm. He worked for Plautz Bros. as a bookkeeper, office manager and V. P. from 1966-1984. He also worked part-time for Branstiter’s from 1981-1984. In 1984 he worked for Boon Construction until retiring in 1995. He also had been Clerk for Mead Township. He resided at home until the time of his death. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood.
Surviving are his wife; five daughters: Ann (Dave) Schuh of Eau Claire, Frances (Rick) Chesebrough of Thorp, Dot Skora of Wausau, Susan Skora of Bloomington, MN, Amelia Skora of Richfield, MN; six sons: Patrick (Marcela) of Seoul, Korea; Joseph (Lourds) of Eagan, MN; Arthur of Eau Claire; William (Kara) of Menomonie; David of Grand Forks, ND; James of Greenwood; 4 grandchildren; two sisters: Stella Skora of Norridge, IL, and Lillian (Don) Dattilo of Mount Prospect, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers: Chester, Ted and George.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon, Monday, September 9, 1996, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood with Rev. Joseph Follmar, officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. His sons served as pallbearers.
Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood was in charge of the arrangements.
