Heidemann, Lyman (13 October 1915 - 4 December 2002)

 

Lyman Heidemann, 87, 305 S. Chestnut, Marshfield, WI, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, 9:50 a.m. on December 4, 2002.

 

Lyman was born October 13, 1915, Town of Reseburg, Clark County, rural Thorp to Ephraim and Ida (Frese) Heidemann.  He received his education in rural schools at Thorp and attended Thorp High School.  He was united in marriage to Willetta Wood June 15, 1940 at La Crosse, WI.  He drove truck for Al Schneider of Green Bay from 1936-1943 then moved to Town of Seif where they farmed until 1975.  Then they moved to the Town of Hendren, then into the Purdy Building in Marshfield on December 1, 1998.  He also had been employed from 1977-1987 driving the Nutrition Van at Owen and Greenwood and seasonally at Figi’s.

 

Surviving are is wife, Willetta Heidemann of Marshfield; two daughters: Carolyn (Karl) Andresen of Lake Mills, WI, Dewella (Philip) Balbach of Blue Mounds, WI and one son, Robert (Judy) Heidemann of Neillsville; also by 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. 

 

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Tekla Anderson and Rita Wagener; 5 brothers: Norman, Rolland, Elmer, William and Donald.

 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 7, 2002, 3:00 p.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Globe.  Rev. Kevin Hanke officiated and burial was in the church cemetery, Town of Weston.  Karen Hoppa was organist for congregational singing. 

 

Pallbearers were 6 grandchildren: Linda Dotson, Craig Balbach, Lynette Heidemann, Victoria Selz, Donald Heidemann and Duane Heidemann.

 

Visitation was at the Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday and at the church after 2:00 p.m. Saturday.

 

A memorial will be established.
