Kanneberg, Ken (Flying Saucer - DEC 1952)
Ken Kanneberg, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), route 2, mail carrier, made the headlines last week with his report of seeing a saucer like object flash across the sky.
Ken was making deliveries about a mile north of Loyal on Wednesday at 12:45 p.m. when he sighted what he called a brilliant white disc-shaped object. He reported it came into view heading west about 500 to 700 feet in the air.
It remained in sight only a few seconds and disappeared.
Ken was at a loss to account for the phenomenon. There were no rays nor reflections from the sun for the sky was overcast. I appeared to be traveling at about 200 miles an hour and in size appeared close to a large airliner.
He estimated the distance of the object from where he was at about two miles.
If any reader of the Tribune by some coincidence observed something similar at that particular time, he is asked to report the fact at once. Not only would Ken feel much better about the affair (he has had a great deal of good natured heckling tossed his way), but Air Corps authorities are interested in such information.
