Johnson, Mrs. Jake (Honored - 4 MAY 1961)
The Curtiss Community Club honored Mrs. Jake Johnson, who has retired as assistant postmaster at Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) at a meeting Thursday evening.
Mrs. Johnson has served in the village post office since 1917, when her husband was postmaster. Since then she has served at intervals and continuously since 1952.
Seated with Mrs. Johnson at the head table were Mrs. Ina Hennlich, local postmaster; Mrs. Earl Schiszik, assistant postmaster; Grant Herrick, rural mail carrier, and his wife; Herbert Fahrenbach, assistant rural mail carrier, and his wife; Donald Kraut, village president; Lionel Schiszik, club president; and Lyle Johnson, village clerk.
Mrs. Johnson was present with a gold watch and a purse of money.
