Flynn, Eliza (5 June 1868 - 19 February 1954)
Mrs. James Flynn, 85, of Owen died Friday forenoon, Feb. 19th at Stanley Memorial Hospital, where she had been admitted Tuesday afternoon. Her death was due to pneumonia. Her body was taken to the Griebnow Funeral Home at Owen where funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 23. Rev. Wagner officiated and burial took place in the Riverside Cemetery.
Eliza McKinzie was born June 5, 1868 to David and Rose (Ferris) McKinzie in Canada. She came to Wisconsin when about 5 years old and settled in Clark County where she lived most of the remainder of her life. In April 1888 in Greenwood she was united in marriage to James Flynn. They farmed for many years near Loyal but the last 33 years they farmed near Owen.
Surviving are her husband, 2 daughters: Mrs. James (Alta) Harper of Calif., and Mrs. Theo. (Lulu) Buker of Loyal, and one son Roy at home; also surviving are four grandsons, Ray Harper of California, Shirley and Walter Rusch both of Thorp and Pvt. James Buker in the service, 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
One daughter, Mrs. Louis (Alma) Rusch preceded her in death, also all her sisters and brothers.
Pallbearers were Bill Koepanen, Lewis Gehrke, Kristian Rasmussen, Viggo Rasmussen, Bill Hautamaki and Emory Sorenson all of Owen. Flowers were in charge of Miss Lillian Salo, Mrs. Viggo Rasmussen and Mrs. Harvey Schwarze also of Owen.
Relatives and friends attending were from Thorp, Loyal, Greenwood and Owen.
A daughter, Mrs. James (Alta) Harper of California was unable to attend.
