Knight, Corrine E. (24 JUN 1961)
Marriage vows were exchanged between Miss Corrine E. Knight and Robert T. Roy at Christ Lutheran Church Saturday afternoon at three o’clock, when the Rev. F. H. Sprengler performed the double ring ceremony. Herbert Juneau was the organist and Miss Dorothy Becker, a friend of the bride, sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "The Song of Ruth."
Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Chester Knight of Abbotsford and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Roy of Valparaiso, Ind.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white silk organza. Silver thread embroidery extended in the bracelet length sleeves and embroidered panels detailed the floor length gown with its chapel length train. White satin was used in bordering the V neckline and in a large bow at the back of the waist, and in the pill box, that held her French illusion veil. She carried a white prayer book, a gift from her parents, on which were white gardenias and stephanotis.
Attendants at the wedding were friends of the bridal couple: Miss Fay Baker of Choteau, Mont., maid of honor, and John Dow of Chicago, as best man; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Palmi of Valparaiso, Ind., and Miss Dorothy Becker of Chicago and Mario Pedavoli of Valparaiso.
The bride’s attendants were all dressed alike in lilac silk organza dresses accented with a deep purple cummerbund. They were designed with a fitted bodice, portrait neckline and full skirt with a deep hem. Their headpieces were made of lilac organza with small matching veils. They carried bouquets of daisies and ivy.
To her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Knight wore a pastel grey dress with pink accessories. Mrs. Roy chose a blue and white print dress and white accessories. Both mothers had shoulder corsages of pink cymbidium orchids and feathered white carnations. Mrs. E. Roy, grandmother of the groom, was honored with a corsage of yellow roses and carnations.
Dinner was served in the church parlors to about 175 guests and a reception was held at the village hall. Mrs. Harley Voigt of Wauwatosa, an aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Larry Blunck of Northfield, a friend, served punch, and Miss Charlotte Becker and Mrs. Arthur Palmi were in charge of the guest book.
Wedding guests came from Valparaiso and Mishawaka, Ind.; Manistee, Mich.; Chicago and Sycamore, Ill.; South America; West Allis, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, Madison, Wausau, Stanley, Owen, Curtiss, Stetsonville, Dorchester, Colby and Abbotsford.
The bride is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School. She received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Valparaiso and a master of arts degree from the University of Chicago this June. She is a member of Sigma Theta sorority. Mrs. Roy will be employed at the Illinois Lutheran Child Welfare Association at River Falls, Ill.
Mr. Roy is a graduate of Valparaiso University, where he was affiliated with Theta Chi fraternity. He is presently attended the Illinois College of Chiropody and Foot Surgery at Chicago.
