THORP
-- Joyce A. Claussen, 87, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Thorp,
died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Wissota Health & Regional Vent
Center, in Chippewa
Falls.
Funeral
services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist
Church in Thorp. Burial will be at the East Thorp Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until
time of
service.
Joyce
Annabelle Rusch was born March 1, 1923, in Thorp, the daughter of
Bernard and Baby Grace (Bunten) Rusch. She was united in marriage
Nov. 28, 1943, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Willard C. Claussen. In the
fall of 1957, they moved to rural Withee, and bought a farm in the
town of Reseburg in the fall of 1959. They farmed side by side
until retiring in January 1976, at which time they moved to Thorp.
After retiring, Joyce worked for Wolf Pharmacy for many years as a
cashier. In August 2005, they moved to Wissota Springs Assisted
Living in Chippewa
Falls.
She is
survived by four children, Nancy (Bill) Zaborowski of Galesville,
Betty (John) Ringelspaugh of Tomah, Charles (Jan) Claussen of
Medford and Catherine (Charles) Marohl of Eau Claire; nine
grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
She was
preceded in death by her husband, Willard, on Feb. 14,
2007.
