COLBY
-- Thomas R. Froeba, 81, of Colby, passed away Monday, Jan. 17,
2011, at the House of the Dove Home in
Marshfield.
A Mass
of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at
St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Father Daniel Hackel will
officiate. Interment will take place at St. Anthony's Catholic
Cemetery in
Loyal.
A
visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford and also at the church
Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of
service.
Thomas
was born July 30, 1929, to Clarence and Loretta (Bauer) Froeba in
Loyal. He attended Loyal schools and went on to proudly serve his
country in the Army during the Korean War. Tom was joined in
marriage Oct. 7, 1953, to his wife, Donna Gregory, at St. Anthony's
Church in Loyal. He was a semi-truck driver for Packaging Corp. of
America.
Tom was
a member of the VFW Post 2227 in Colby, the National Rifle
Association and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed farming, deer
hunting and shaking dice, particularly 6-5-4, with his friends.
Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially
his
grandchildren.
He is
lovingly survived by his wife, Donna, of Colby; his children,
Daniel (Robin) Froeba of Colby and Bonnie (the Rev. William) Finn
of Dale; his grandchildren, Kari (Tim) Smazal, Amy Froeba, Sara
Graffunder and Rebecca, Billy and Tommy Finn; and his
great-grandchildren, Brooke, Dylan, Ashlyn, Gabryelle, Lukas,
Lillyn and
John.
Tom is
further survived by his brother, Ronald (Kathy) Froeba of Loyal;
and his sisters, Viola (Alfred) Uhlig of Abbotsford, Kitty (Stub)
Grambort of Abbotsford, Nancy (Jim) Steinbach of Loyal, Sandra
(Jerry) Noeldner of Loyal and Marciel (Lynn) Russell of
Greenwood.
Tom was
preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Loretta; two
brothers, Herb Froeba and Raymond Froeba; and sister, Evelyn
Froeba.
The
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is assisting the
