Military Notes (July Inductions - 1954)
The following Clark County men left by a chartered Greyhound bus for Minneapolis, Minnesota and were inducted into the Army on July 8, 1954: George Nielsen, Jr., and Walter H. Wagner, Jr., Neillsville; Joseph V. Lewien, Clifford J. Schmidt, and Felix S. Straszkowski, Thorp. Julian A. Anderson, Neillsville, a registrant of Local Board No. 34, Darlington, Wisconsin, and E. Fred Legner, Merrillan, a registrant of Local Board No. 81, Chicago, Illinois, transferred to Clark County for induction into service. They were inducted with the above group of men.
The quota for Clark County for the month of August calls for nine men for induction and sixteen for pre-induction physical examination to leave by a charted bus on the 4th of August.
