Schroeder, Albert (20 October 1865 - 24 September 1954)
Albert Schroeder, 88, died at his home in the city at about 2:30 p.m. Friday. His death was caused by a heart ailment.
He was born in Stettin, Germany, October 20, 1865. He came to America in 1881 and settled at Rolling Prairie, Dodge County, Wisconsin. He was married to Johanna Priebe at Beaver Dam, March 11, 1890.
In 1900 they moved to a farm in the Town of Sherman. Most of his years were lived as a farmer until 19 years ago, when he moved to the city of Loyal to make his home.
He is survived by three sons and four daughters: Julius Schroeder, Spencer, Rt. 2; Roy Schroeder, Loyal; Bert Schroeder, Richmond, Calif.; Mrs. Albert (Elsie) Mellenthin, Spencer; Mrs. Munson (Florence) Vanderhoof; Miss Frieda Schroeder, Evanston, Ill., and Mrs. Walter (Linda) Krahn, Loyal; also 29 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren survive.
His wife died October 31, 1942. One brother, 4 sisters, one daughter, and one son also preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held in Trinity Lutheran Church Monday at 2 p.m. and burial was in the Lutheran cemetery. The Rev. E. E. Aalto officiated at the services. Mrs. Romaine Rossow sang, "Abide with Me" and "Under His Wings", with Bette Nysted as organist accompaniment.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Raymond, Oscar and Gordon Mellenthin, and Herman Luepka, Verlyn Krahn and Russel Gehrke.
Relatives who came from a distance for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. August Drews and Arlene, Ruben Kienow, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kienow, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roedl, Mr. and Mrs. William Koerner, Carl Roedl, Mrs. Al Katzenmeir, and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Mellenthin, Beaver Dam; Ray Mellenthin, Rockford, Ill; and Miss Frieda Schroeder, Evanston, Ill.
Other relatives attending the services were from Spencer, Marshfield, Colby, Unity, Granton, and Loyal.
