Hodgens, Sarah (10 NOV 1912 - 28 AUG 1961)

The body of Mrs. Sarah Hodgens, 48, of Chippewa Falls, was discovered in her car in the garage of the home of Stanley Thomson Tuesday evening about 6 o’clock.

Mr. Thomson had been out of town on a business trip to Minnesota.  The discovery was made by a laundry truck driver who was making a regular call at the Thomson home.

The woman had apparently driven her car into the garage and closed the door with the motor running, according to Clark County Coroner Robert Lulloff and Sheriff Ray Kutsche, and Donald Kieser, village constable, who investigated.  Death, which occurred late Sunday or early Monday morning, was caused by carbon monoxide poisoning, according to the investigating officer.

The body was taken to the Polnaszek Funeral Home and funeral arrangements are being made by the Hogseth-Pederson Funeral Home of Chippewa Falls.

Mrs. Hodgens was born Nov. 10, 1912, at Crystal Lake, Minn., and is survived by a son, John, Eau Claire, and a daughter, Janet, at home.  Her husband, John Hodgens, preceded her in death five years ago.
