Lindekugel, Ethel Leah (4 November 1924 - 23 January 2011)

 

Ethel Lindekugel, 86, of Neillsville died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center under the wonderful care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

 

Ethel Leah Hamann was born Nov. 4, 1924, in North Dakota, the daughter of Otto and Elma (Hutchins) Hamann.  When she was nine months old her family came to Riplinger to visit and they ended up staying. They farmed in the Township of Unity. Ethel attended school in Loyal and graduated from Loyal High School in 1943. She then worked as a nanny in Marshfield.  She was united in marriage June 28, 1944, to Harold Lindekugel in Loyal.  In 1967 she went to work in the Food Service Department at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville and worked there until 1986 when she retired.  Ethel was a member of St. John’s Church, St. John’s Ladies Aid, the Owl’s Group and Bible Study.  She enjoyed Bible study, doing embroidery, putting puzzles together, gardening, Thursday night supper group, traveling, camping and riding the pontoon boat in Eagle River every summer.

 

She is survived by her children: Kenneth (Susan) Lindekugel of Wausau, Kay (Mark) Lindekugel-Lemke of Madison, Sandra (Kelly) Aderhold of Neillsville and Wayne Lindekugel of St. Paul, MN; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Ruth Litka, of Watertown.

 

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold and a brother, Elwin.

 

A funeral service for Ethel will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville.  Pastor Timothy Biebert will officiate.  Music will be provided by Sharon Nemitz, organist, and St. John’s Children’s Choir. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, at the church.  Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Serving as Casketbearers for Ethel will be grandsons, nephews and friends of the family.
