West York (18 Dec 1913)

Mrs. E. Winkleman and daughter, Hattie, and Mrs. Wm. Uhlman intend going to Dodge Co. to spend the holidays with relatives and friends.

The party at Fred Schoengarth’s Saturday night was well attended and a fine time reported.

Pete Krejci and wife and Joe and Grandpa Krejci spent the evening at the W.K. Graves home Friday.

W.K. Graves and wife and family and Mr. Kelley and son, Frank, spent the evening at the Cross home Saturday.

Little Miss Irene Bradford came up Saturday for a short visit at Grandpa Miller’s.

Willie Kubat and wife went to Kilbourn Wednesday where he has a position in a butter factory.

Pete Krejci, Will Hurlburt, E. Winkleman and Perk Cross hauled hogs to town Monday.

Grandma Kubat and son, Eddie, enjoyed an auto ride with her son, Willie, and spent the day with Mrs. John Kubat and family last Saturday.

E. Winkleman had the bad luck to lose one of his hogs Monday.  It smothered to death on the way to town.  His load weighed thirty-six hundred and eighty pounds and the hog that was killed was 8 months and a half old and weighed 380 lbs.  Who can beat it.

Mr. Hanson put in a phone at the Cross home Saturday and Perk now wastes his time calling hello.
