Rural Students (Madison Trip - 1954)
453 rural Clark County students have been taken on a conducted tour of Madison thorough arrangements made by Clayton Wright, County Superintendent of Schools and the Duwe School Tours of Milwaukee.
The students left for Madison by bus at 6:30 a.m. and arrived home at 9:00 p.m.
All groups stopped at Portage for lunch, then proceeded to Madison where they were conducted through the Capitol Building and given an opportunity to see our state government in action. From there they were taken through the University of Wisconsin, Historical Museum, and Truax Field Airport where they were introduced to jet planes. A short stop was made at Wisconsin Dells and then home.
