Karsten, Alfred (13 FEB 1903 - 26 OCT 1961)
Alfred Karsten of Marshfield, formerly of Abbotsford, died unexpectedly about 10 a.m. Thursday Oct. 26, 1961, of a heart attack suffered while he was at work at the Marshfield Canning Co. He was 58 years old.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Hansen Funeral Chapel, Marshfield, and burial was made in Brook Lawn Memory Gardens on Highway 13, south of Marshfield.
Mr. Karsten was born at Curtiss on Feb. 13, 1903, and received his education in the Curtiss schools and the Abbotsford High School. He lived in Curtiss and Abbotsford until last spring, when he made his home at Marshfield, where he had been an employee of the Marshfield Canning Co. the past three years.
He was married at Curtiss on Jan. 1, 1926, to Mae Koffarnus, who survives him. Other survivors are a son, LaVerne Karsten of Marshfield; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Delilah) Stout Jr., Rockford, Ill.; a brother, Harry Karsten, Curtiss; a sister, Mrs. Franklin (Elsie) Kraut, Curtiss, and 13 grandchildren.
