Men, for U. S. Army (Wanted - 1938)
Sargent J. W. O’Kasick, DEMLKRS, in charge of the U. S. Army Recruiting Station in Eau Claire announces that approximately 190 vacancies exist at Fort Snelling, Minnesota for young men of good character. Applicants may have their choice of service in Infantry, Tanks, Field Artillery, Quartermaster Corps, Medical Department, Signal Corps or Ordinance Department.
Sergeant O’Kasick invites attention to the fact that such an enlistment guarantees steady employment for the next three years, pay according to a soldier’s ability to advance to higher grades, free board and room, free clothing, free medical and dental attention, participation in all sorts of athletics without cost to the individual and the opportunity for education in certain lines. If you want to go places and do things, the Army is the solution to your problem. Uncle Sam has troops stationed not only in every section of the Continental United States but also in the Panama Canal Zone, Hawaii, the Philippines and Alaska. It is possible to transfer to any one of these places after serving approximately six months at your first station (Fort Snelling). Many have done this in the past and others are doing it right along.
To be eligible, applicants must between the ages of 18 and 30, sound physically and mentally, of good character, single and without dependents. If interested apply in person or write the U. S. Army Recruiting Office, Post Office Building, Eau Claire, Wisconsin where information and application blanks will be furnished.
