Christie, Pat (18 DEC 1896)
Pat Christie, the 16-year old boy who with a brother younger than
himself has been in the Clark county jail at Neillsville since last
July for the murder of Christ Milert, passed through here Saturday
with Judge Salter where he will take a place in the Judge's family.
When this case came up for trial at Neillsville last week, and the
facts became known, the boys were discharged. Pat was the one who,
at his father's bidding, shot Christ Milert, a neighbor. The father
and two sons were arrested for the crime but after being in jail a
few weeks the old gent committed suicide by hanging himself. Both
of the boys have been adopted in good families and away from the
scenes that surround their earlier life will no doubt develop into
good men.
