Zickert, Emilie (22 November 1872 - 29 January 1961)

 

Mrs. Emilie M. Zickert, 88, Neillsville, died Sunday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Schlinkert.  Funeral services were held Tuesday from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Zickert was born November 22, 1872, in Watertown, the daughter of the late Herman and Louisa (Kuehn) Schoenherr.  She was married October 27, 1892, to Frank J. Zickert, who died in 1944. They farmed near Watertown and in 1901 came to Clark County, locating on a farm near Christie.

 

She had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Schlinkert since 1944.  She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society.

 

Surviving are three children: Mrs. William (Hattie) Roehl, Rt. 1 Neillsville; Frank Zickert, Neillsville; and Mrs. Theodore (Ella) Schlinkert, Neillsville.  Nine grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren also survive.

 

Pallbearers were: Herbert Hinkelmann, Walter Saibold, Leonard Drescher, Harold Embke, Clifford Roehl and Franklin Zickert.

 

Miss Janice Greeler sang, "I’m but a Stranger here," accompanied by Victor Lehman. The Ladies Aid members attended in a body and sang, "Abide Dearest Jesus" and "Be Still my Soul".

 

People from out of town here for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson, Mt. Horeb; Mr. and Mrs. George Harold, Mr. and Mrs. John Weber, and Mr. and Mrs. Gerold Hieman, all of Watertown; Clarence E. Schulz, Reeseville; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Heiman, Marshall; Glenn Zickert, and Mrs. Jefferson Keach, Waupun; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Jacobs, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin  Kuehn, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kuehn, Rochester, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Heck, Neosho; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hinkelmann, Loyal; Mrs. Leona Wagoner and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Schoenherr, Rochester, Minn.
