Kleiman, Ida (28 AUG 1878 - 28 JAN 1962)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. William Kleiman, 83, who died Thursday, were held Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. F. N. Sprengler officiating at the services.  Miss Dorothy Kleser and Mrs. Weldon Brown Jr. sang "What a Friend We have in Jesus" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

 

Pallbearers were Arvin Gosse, Donald Hulse, Carl Diedrich, Raymond Orth and Lavern and Donald Kalepp.  Interment was made in the town of Holton Cemetery.

 

The flowers were carried by four granddaughters, Misses Letsy, Beverly and Susan Underwood and Miss Betty Laack.

 

Mrs. Kleiman suffered a stroke at her home on Jan. 28, after which she was hospitalized.  Death came at 12:45 a.m. Feb. 1, 1962.

 

The former Ida Hoeft was born Aug. 28, 1878, in Sheboygan.  When she was still a small child, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Hoeft, moved to the town of Holton, where she received her education.

 

She was married July 29, 1901 to William Kleiman in the town of Holton.  They farmed until 1945, when they moved to Abbotsford.

 

Mrs. Kleiman was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

 

Surviving are her husband and four daughters: Mrs. Carl (unreadable) Gosse, Milwaukee; Mrs. Lessie Hulse, Chicago; Mrs. Daisy Laack and Mrs. Leo (Lillian) Underwood, Abbotsford.  There are 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  She also leaves a brother, Otto Hoeft, Greenwood, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Schultz, Abbotsford.

 

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, one sister and three brothers.

 

Relatives from away who attended the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gosse Underwood, Miss Betty Laack and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Diedrich, Milwaukee; Mrs. Bessie Hulse and Gilbert Haless, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hulse, Addison, Ill.; Harvey Hoeft and Darrel Hoeft, Kenosha; and Otto Hoeft of Greenwood.
