Runzheimer, Henry F. #2 (30 MAR 1885 - 20 MAY 1962)

 

Henry F. Runzheimer, 77, died at his home on Route 2, Colby Sunday morning.  Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford, Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating.

 

Miss Dorothy Kieser and Mrs. Weldon Brown Jr. sang "Jesus, Lead Thou On" and "Abide with Me" during the 2:30 o’clock service.  Interment followed in the Colby Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were Willard Becherer, Arvin Dommer, Walter Drews, Lester Sonneman, Elmer Kocian and Alfred Svoboda.

 

Mr. Runzheimer was born March 30, 1885 in Calumet county.  When he was 15 years old, he came with his parents to Colby.  On Dec. 1, 1908 he and Miss Anne Wiersig were united in marriage.  They operated a farm in the Colby area until 1935, and for the past 25 years, Mr. Runzheimer was an insurance salesman.

 

He served on the town board of the town of Hull for about 15 years, and he took an active part in organizing cooperatives and farmers unions.  He was a member of the Christ Lutheran congregation at Abbotsford.

 

Surviving him are his widow, two sons and three daughters, Walter of Colby; Ervin of Edgar; Mrs. Manuel (Olga) Richards, Wauwatosa; Mrs. Ervin (Anita) Weller, Marshfield, and Mrs. Raymond (Lila) Ehlers, Milwaukee; and 11 grandchildren.

 

Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Walther, Washington, D. C.; Mrs. Amelia Becker, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Emma Marks, Wauwatosa; and two brothers, William, Wausau; and Rufus, Chicago.

 

Three sisters preceded him in death.
