Theodore "Ted" Schwoch Jr., 83 of Dorchester died Saturday,
Feb. 12, 2011, at his
home.
Funeral
services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church,
Colby. A time of visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the
church Thursday. Burial will be in the Chelsea
Cemetery.
The
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is assisting the
family with funeral
arrangements.
Mr.
Schwoch was born Dec. 27, 1927, in Jacksonville, Ill., the son of
Theodore and Elsa Schwoch. He graduated from Rib Lake High School
and attended the University of
Wisconsin-Madison.
In
1948, he purchased a farm in Deer Creek near Stetsonville, which he
sold in 1980. In 1954, he began his insurance career, working with
Aid Association for Lutherans as well as other independent
insurance companies for more than 42 years. Mr. Schwoch also did
appraisal work for Agri-Management
Inc.
He was
married to Faye Kelnhofer on Oct. 21, 1950, in Rib Lake. The couple
later
divorced.
Ted
married Sally Miller in 1991. She preceded him in death in 1997. He
later was married to Ellen Recore. She also preceded him in
death.
He is
survived by his children, Yvonne (Bruce) Pawlowicz, Dorchester,
Wenda (Larry Schlais) Schwoch, Minneapolis, and Kurt (Kathy)
Schwoch, Dorchester; four Miller stepsons, Steve, Robert, Mark and
Randy; seven Recore children, Mike, Terry, Cliff, Brandon, Dianne,
Char and Andrea. He is further survived by one brother, Karl
(Phyllis) Schwoch, Fall Creek; two sisters, Elaine (Ken) Kovatch,
Cottage Grove, Minn., and Caryl (Wayne) Galler, Hot Springs, Ark.;
as well as many grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
