Tischendorf, Dorothy Ann (16 JUN 1962)

Miss Dorothy Ann Tischendorf and Leonard H. Stauske exchanged marriage vows Saturday afternoon June 16, 1962, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Dorchester.  The Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated at the 1 o’clock ceremony, during which Miss Carmen Kuegler sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and O Perfect Love."  Miss Shirley Sprengler was the organist.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Fed Tischendorf of Dorchester, route 1, and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Stauske of Athens, route 1.

The bride appeared in a gown of nylon and net over taffeta, which she designed and made herself.  The full length gown had a scoop neckline trimmed with daisies and seed pearls.  Scattered daisy appliques studded with seed pearls detailed the full skirt., except for the front.  A crown of pink garnet roses and feathered carnations held her billowing veil of silk illusion.  She carried a colonial arrangement of (some words were unreadable on my copy).

(unreadable words)  Two shades of aqua silk organza over taffeta were used in the street length dresses, which featured scoop necklines (again some unreadable words) circular skirts with cummerbunds and bustle backs.  White accessories and colonial bouquets of yellow and white carnations completed the ensembles.

Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hargraves of Athens, an uncle of the groom and sister of the bride.  Miss Carol Stauske and Walter Stauske, Athens, sister and brother of the groom.  Miss Helen Holman, Oshkosh, cousin of the bride and groom, and Kenneth Tischendorf, Dorchester, cousin of the bride.

A reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents and supper was served to about 200 guests in the church basement.  In the evening, a wedding dance was held at the Trianon Ballroom.

After a honeymoon trip to Yellowstone National Park and the Black Hills, S.D., the new Mr. and Mrs. Stauske will live at route 2, Athens.  The groom is a carpenter and his bride is an elementary grade teacher.

Guests at the wedding came from Abbotsford, Wausau, Marshfield, Cadott, Medford, Oshkosh, Edgar and Milwaukee.
