Green, Stacey L. (1 JUL 1900 - 3 AUG 1962)

 

Funeral services for Stacey L. Green of Eugene, Ore, who died Aug. 3, 1962 of leukemia, were held Tuesday, Aug. 7, 1962, at Eugene.

 

Mr. Green, 62, was born July 1, 1900 at Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.).  He was educated in grade schools there and attended Northland Academy and College at Ashland, where he majored in piano.  He also studied music at Oslo, Norway and at the Eastman School of Music at Rochester, N.Y.

 

He taught at Northland College at Ashland for seven years, at Valparaiso University for 12 years and then served in the U.S. Army for one years in 1942 and 1943.

 

In 1944, Mr. Green moved to Eugene where he was an associate professor in the school of music of the University of Oregon.

 

He was never married.

 

Mr. Green is survived by a brother, Ralph Green of Bluffton, Ind., and two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Edith) Neitzel, Abbotsford, and Mrs. Jake (Lucy) Johnson, Curtiss.

 

He was a member of the Abbotsford Masonic Lodge and held the 32nd degree at Eugene.
