Bertz, William F. (12 December 1922 - 4 March 1961)
Funeral services were held in Ann Arbor, Mich., march 7, for Wm. F. Bertz, 33, former Loyal resident and pharmacy supervisor at University Hospital and president of the Michigan Society of Hospital Pharmacists.
Mrs. Bertz died March 4, after a steam accident which occurred February 28. He suffered burns on 80 percent of his body.
Wm. Bertz was born, December 12, 1922, in Loyal, the son of Reuben and Cecilia Bertz. He married the former Elizabeth Ann Hilding at Ann Arbor December 22, 1950. He had been a resident of Ann Arbor for the last 12 years. He was a graduate of Ferris Institute, Big Rapids, Mich., and was working on his master’s degree at the University of Michigan.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Ann Arbor; of the American Pharmaceutical Association; and of the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists. A World War II veteran, he was a member of the American Legion, also.
He is survived by his wife and four sons: Bruce, Mark, Kurt, and John and daughter Paula, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Bertz, now of Berlin; two brothers, Robert of Loyal and David of Withee; eight sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Virginia) Bushnell, Lodi, Mrs. Josh (Rosemary) Sanford, Reedsburg; Mrs. Edward (Marilyn) Bogdonovich, Greenwood; Mrs. Francis (Colleen) Kraeger, Hales Corners; Mrs. Max (Joan) Hayden, New Mexico; Mrs. Jerome (Darlene) Ottoway, Berlin; Mrs. Gilbert (Deanna) Will, North Fond du Lac; and Miss Donna Bertz, Berlin.
