Pleasant Ridge (9 March 1961)
Mr. and Mrs. Roger Ingold and son were Sunday dinner guests at the Clarion Counsell home.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Larsen were among the guests entertained Sunday evening at the Paul Frischman home in the Town of York. The birthdays of Mrs. Harold Otto and Mrs. Ruth Ebert were observed.
Visitors at the Walter Larsen home last week were Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Gerhardt and Mr. and Mrs. Clarion Counsell.
Douglas Larsen, Minneapolis, Minn., spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Larsen.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Drescher were hosts Friday evening to their sheepshead club. Prizes were merited by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Suckow and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Gerhardt.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Drescher accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hoeft of Granton to Madison Sunday to visit Ewald Hoeft of Green Bay, a patient in University Hospital. He underwent major surgery Monday. Mr. Hoeft is a brother of Ray Hoeft and Mrs. Drescher.
Mrs. Genevieve Hantke and daughter drove Friday to Nekoosa, where they attended funeral services for a cousin, Mrs. Charles Graf.
Mrs. Nellie Yankee of Neenah and Mrs. Walter Sack of Grand Rapids, Mich., were Friday overnight guests of Mrs. Yankee’s sister, Mrs. Genevieve Hantke. They attended funeral services for Mrs. Charles Graf in Nekoosa Friday. Mrs. Sack accompanied Mrs. Yankee to Adams Saturday, where she boarded the "400" for Chicago, to spend a few days with her daughter.
Mrs. Emma Zipfel has returned home from Bay City, Mich., where she spent a week with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Maxson.
Mr. and Mrs. John Jones and their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jones, Waukesha, were weekend guests of Mrs. John Jones’ sister, Mrs. Glenn Short and family, and visited with other area relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Short and Mrs. Alfred Magnuson spent the weekend in Minneapolis, Minn., with Miss Shirley Magnuson. They had planned to return home Monday, but remained for another day because of the weather.
