Goergen, Joseph H. (21 July 1958 - 10 February 2011)

Joseph H. Goergen, 52, of Granton died at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011.

Joseph Harold Goergen was born July 21, 1958, in Kenosha, the son of Vernon and Joyce (Heinen) Goergen.  He was raised and received his education in the Kenosha area.  In 1974, the family moved to a farm in the Town of York.  Joe worked at Raecon Farms in Neillsville for eight years.  He then began raising his own veal and later beef cattle on their farm.  In 2000, he went to work at Nelson Industries in Neillsville, now Cummins, where he had been employed until his death.

Joe was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.  He had many interests, but especially loved fishing, motorcycling and collecting antique tractors and guns.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Goergen, of Granton; his father, Vernon Goergen, of Kenosha; two brothers, Mike (Laura) Goergen of Pittsville, and Ted (Kay) Goergen of Somers; one sister, Kathy (Lincoln) Bergeron of Loyal; one sister-in-law, Roxanne Goergen of Gridley, CA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by on brother, Francis; and a nephew, Joshua Bergeron.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service.  Rev. Jerome Naduvathaniyil officiated. Burial of cremains followed in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.cuddiefh.com
