The Granton High School graduation will be held on Thursday, May 24, 1979 at
8:00 p.m. in the elementary gym.
Bronna Parker will give the Valedictory address and Sandra Barth the
Salutatorian address. Bronna is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Parker,
Route , Granton. Mr. and Mrs. James Barth, Route 1, Chili, are the parents of
Sandra.
Class vice president, Nick Daleiden, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Daleiden, Route
2, Granton, will welcome parents and guests.
The invocation and benediction will be given by Maynard Stokka, pastor of the
Zion American Lutheran Church of Granton. Music will be provided by the high
school band.
Scholarships will be awarded by Merle Bartsch of Citizens State Bank, Mrs.
Evelyn Dudei for the Teachers of the Granton Area Schools, and Principal Lionel
Strand for the FFA.
After remarks and presentation of the Valedictorian and Salutatorian awards by
Superintendent Roland Krueger, the class will be present by Lionel Strand,
Principal. Board members, Marjorie Garbisch, James Daleiden and Robert Scheel
will present the diplomas.
Class officers are Sandra Barth, president, Nick Daleiden, vice president, Dawn
Sladek, secretary and Adrean Alleshaski, treasurer.
The motto “The Past Cannot be Changed; The Future is Still in our Power,” was
selected, along with the class flower of yellow roses and blue carnations, and
class colors of royal blue and gold.
Members of the graduation class that belong to the National Honor Society are
Sandra Barth, Nicholas Daleiden, Thomas, Hasz, Thomas Langreck, Jeffrey Lavey,
and Bronna Parker. Honor students are Sandra Barth, Zoe Garbisch, Kelley Hoesly,
Bronna Parker, and Thomas Langreck.

On Saturday, May 12, 1979, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church,
Hewitt, Miss Mary Jo Wunrow, 307A, West Blodgett, Marshfield, became the bride
of James Alvin Ringquist, Loyal. Father Bornbach performed the ceremony and
Clarice Butkas played the organ and Mike Konkol sang. Lori Aumann and Sandy
Miller also played guitar and sang for the occasion.
Miss Wunrow is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wunrow, Route 1, Arpin, and
the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Dahl, Loyal.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was seen in an ivory and old lace
dress (lace was hand crocheted by her grandmother), Camelot head illusion veil.
She carried a bouquet of roses, daisies, corn flowers, violets, lily of the
valley and baby’s breath.
Serving as maid of honor was Miss Kathryn Zahn, Marshfield. The bridesmaids were
Mrs. Caroline Wunrow, Arpin, Miss Sue Ringquist, Madison, Miss Heather Pryer,
Spencer, Miss Donna Wunrow, Arpin, and Miss Daun Ringquist, Loyal. They were
attired in rainbow colored dresses of peach, blue, orchid, yellow, green, and
pink trimmed with ivory lace. They carried garden bouquets of daisies and baby’s
breath. They also wore floral wreaths of daisies and baby’s breath in their
hair..
Brian Prust, Chili, was the best man, and the groomsmen were Kenneth Wunrow,
Arpin, James Wunrow, Arpin, John Wunrow, Arpin, Ronald Schill, Auburndale, and
Ray Froeba, Loyal. David Ringquist and Thomas Masephol performed ushering
duties.
A supper was held at St. Michael’s school basement in Hewitt, and a reception
and dance were held at the Marshfield Town Hall, Hewitt.
The bride is a 1976 graduate of Marshfield Senior High and expects to graduate
May 20, 1979 from Mid-State Technical Institute as an operating room assistant.
The groom graduated in 1978 from Loyal High School and works at Automated
Products, Marshfield.
The couple is residing at 200 South Peach Street, Marshfield.

Debra Edwards, Greenwood, was one of four University of Wisconsin, Madison
students who were recipients of Moorman Manufacturing Company scholarship for
study in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. They met company
officials and accepted scholarship certificates at a dinner held for them
recently in Madison.
Debra is a freshman studying pre-veterinary medicine, and is the granddaughter

Outstanding students in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State
University were honored at the recent annual college awards banquet and program
in the Memorial Union.
The event cites top students with awards and scholarships in recognition of
academic and professional excellence. Forty-eight students received citations.
Four veterinary medicine faculty members were also honored.
Student award recipient was Timothy LaBarge, Loyal, Allen Products Company
junior scholarship.

information about Argentina, a country they have been studying about in social
studies. Mrs. Elvera Humke presented slides of her trip to Argentina. She also
