Bogue, Jay Almous (4 November 1879 - 9 March 1961)
Funeral services were held March 11 from the Alliance Church in Owen for Jay Almous Bogue, 81, who died March 9, following a stroke. The Rev. James R. Stone was in charge, and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Pallbearers were: Elmer Dearth, Ray Dearth, C. E. Beck, Harris Johnson, Glenn Buchanan and Harold Frey. Mrs. Ethel Johnson, Miss Mabel Whittemore and Mrs. Harriet Frey were in charge of flowers.
Mr. Bogue was born November 4, 1879, in Custer, Mich., the son of Mariba (Marsh) and George Bogue. The family moved to Owen on March 7, 1907, and five years later moved to Withee, where he resided until his death.
Mr. Bogue was married to Olive Hilden on February 2, 1903, in Ludington, Mich.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son and three daughters: Harold, and Mrs. George (Leotia) Gerber of Watseka, Ill.; Mrs. Harold (Edna) Koplitz of Curtiss, and Mrs. Robert (Cecil) Hodd of Abbotsford. Fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
