Mikrut, Cecelia (20 March 1877 - 9 March 1961)

 

Funeral services were held March 13, from Holy Family Catholic Church at Thorp for Mrs. Cecelia Mikrut, 84, who died of old age complications at the home of her daughter in Withee March 9.  The Rev. Francis Disher was in charge.

 

Pallbearers were: Adam Wiater, Gene Stigen, James Pietrzak, Bruno Jarocki, Victor Soborowicz and Harry Hodorowski.

 

A native of Poland, Mrs. Mikrut was born there on March 20, 1877, and settled in New York State when she came to the United States with her family. She later lived in Chicago, where she was married in 1906 to Stanley Mikrut.

 

The couple later moved to Clark County, where they operated a farm near Withee.

 

Mrs. Mikrut was active in Holy Family Church, being a member of the Altar Society and the Rosary Society. 

 

She is survived by a son and three daughters: John of rural Withee; Mrs. Louis (Anna) Jaeger of Withee; Mrs. Marie Schwartz of Chicago, Ill.; and Mrs. Ed (Harriet) Parker of Chicago.  A granddaughter, Mrs. Phyllis Markowski, and thee great-grandchildren also survive.
