Trinity Lutheran Church was the scene of an early spring wedding, at 2 P.M. Saturday, March 7, when Miss Betty Johannsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Johannsen, Loyal, approached the altar on the arm of her father to become the bride of James Porter, West Allis. The Rev. E. E. Aalto officiated.
The bride wore a ballerina length gown of white satin with a lace bodice, and an alternate lace and nylon tulle panel skirt. Her veil of elbow length was attached to a head-dress of lace, and she carried pink and white carnations.
Miss Marie Johannsen, sister of the bride was maid of honor. Her ballerina length gown was of pink nylon net. She wore a small, pink flowered hat, and her flowers were white and pink carnations.
Serving as best man was George Porter, Milwaukee, brother of the groom.
Jerry Bredlau and Fritz Heckenderf ushered.
Miss Jeanne Nystad as organist provided the nuptial music and LaVern Dahlby sang the "Lord’s Prayer".
The bride’s mother attended the wedding in a navy blue suit with white and blue accessories. The groom’s mother wore a tan suit with navy accessories. Both wore corsages of pink and white carnations.
The bride is a graduate of the Loyal High School, class of 1950. In 1951 she inlisted in the Air Force and is stationed at Good Fellow Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The groom is a graduate of West Allis Centre High School, West Allis, class of 1948. He enlisted in the air force and after three and one-half years service was discharged in January of this year. He is now employed by a Chevrolet company in San Angelo, Texas. They will live at 318 E. 13 St. in San Angelo.
A wedding supper was served at the church and the room was decorated with pink and white streamers and wedding bells. A large wedding cake centered the table of the bridal party.

Moerfelder and daughter Marlene, Tom Needles, Evelyn Moersfelder, Edith Boucher, and Roger Keller, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Robbins, Watertown; Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Ehrke, Cambridge; Mr. and Mrs. O. Gunderson, Mr. and Mrs. J. Moen. Miss Lucille Goetz, and Bill Hughes, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. H.O. Giese, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Noll, Mrs. John Noll, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hainzlsperger, and Mrs. Leo Schecklman. Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. John Hainszlsperger, son Raymond, and daughter, Viola, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. George Noll, daughter, Beverly, and son, George, Wisconsin Rapids; Miss Colleen Bertz, Jackson; the Misses Donna and Sharon Gregory, Granton.
