Lynne W. Russell, 72, died on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at House of the Dove, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 10;30 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 19, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. Rev. Jerome Naduvathaniyil officiated. Burial followed in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Froeba, Jerry Noeldner, Dennis Grambort, Jeff Grambort, Dave Uhlig and Alan Uhlig.
Lynne Wilbur Russell was born on Sept. 13, 1938, in Tomahawk, the son of Edgar and Hilda (nee Pomper) Russell. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the Tomahawk area. When he was 16, his family moved to a farm in the Greenwood area. He served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard from Oct. 3, 1955, until June 10, 1959. He worked for Plautz Brothers, Greenwood, for a few years, and then worked several years for Alan Stanley, hauling cattle, until 1972. He was then employed with Boson Construction for 10 years and then drove truck for Sternweis & Sons and Bugar Trucking until retiring in 2005. He entered the Clark County Health Care Center in June 2006 and resided there until his death.
He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He had many interests, ut especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, visiting and taking Sunday drives.
Survivors include his wife Mareeil Russell, Greenwood; one son, Steve (Pam) Russell, Marshfield; one grandson, Cory Russell; three brothers, Edgar Russell, Auburn, Wash., Larry Russell, Hilbert, and Rollie (Bev) Russell, Rib Mountain; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
