Funeral services for Karl F. Schaeffner, 67, who died Friday afternoon were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Loyal Methodist Church. The Rev. Leroy Schantz, pastor of the Free Methodist Church officiated and burial was made in the Loyal cemetery.
Mr. Schaeffner was born Oct. 20, 1885, in the Town of Loyal and has been a resident of this area his entire life. He was married April 11, 1908 to Blanche Eyesnogle of Richland Center, Wis. They settled on a farm near Loyal and later moved to the farm near Spokeville where they lived for 26 years.
Two daughters and one son were born to this union; Mrs. Herbert (Selma) Fensome, Loyal; Mrs. J. E. (Irma) Hollister, Platteville, and Wilbur, Town Creek, Alabama.
Besides his wife and children, he is survived by two brothers: Edwarn of Medford; William of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; four sisters, Mary Jahr, Los Angeles, Calif; Hannah Lemke, Greenwood; Clara Lindner, Loyal; Helen Young, Stanley; and six grandchildren. One sister, Martha Ratzberg preceded him in death.
At the final services Rev. and Mrs. Schantz sang "My Savior First of All." And "All the Way My Savior Leads Me." R. E. Larson, Frank Stirmel, Floyd Smith, Frank Dubes, Henry Gardner, and Ernest Schlinog served as pallbearers.
