Bloomfield, Mr. and Mrs. John  (Gold - 29 Mar 1953)

It was March 29, way back in 1903 when, on a beautiful Sunday, Miss Jennie Long became the bride of John Bloomfield.

On another beautiful Sunday, March 29, 1953, they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. The celebration was planned and put on for the Bloomsfield’s by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Van Wie, and their son, George Bloomfield.

A noon-time dinner was served to relatives and old neighbors, and many friends called during the hours of "open house" and during the evening. At least 150 guests were entertained during the day. Cards of congratulations, and many gifts were received by the Bloomfields.

Before their marriage Mrs. Bloomfield taught school and Mr. Bloomfield ran a creamery. Most of their married life was lived on farms, many of those years at Strongs Prairie. They spent one year in Washington and one in South Dakota.
