Scherer, Francis (19 DEC 1907 - 14 DEC 1962)
Francis Scherer, 54, Spencer, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, Friday. He was in poor health the past two years.
Mr. Scherer was born Dec. 19, 1907 at Hollandale. He moved to Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1914 and was educated there. He was a cheesemaker and for a time was employed at Marathon-Clark Cooperative Dairy Association. He later was employed at Dairybell in Spencer, and the past eight years, operated Gary’s Tavern at Spencer.
His marriage to Miss Evelyn Specht took place at Abbotsford, April 25, 1936. His second marriage was to Minerva Holterman at Marshfield, Jan. 11, 1958.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. James (Barbara) Mercier, and a son, Allen, both of Marshfield, and a step-son, Charles Holterman, serving with the U.S. Navy at Great Lakes, Ill.
