Carter, Maude (12 October 1884 - 28 March 1961)

Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. C. J. (Maude) Carter, a former Greenwood resident.  Mrs. Carter, 76, died March 28, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, South America, where she had resided for the last two years at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mauricio De Pages.

Mrs. Carter, nee Maude Greene, was born October 12, 1884, in Ohio. She was married on January 8, 1906, to Claude Carter in Greenwood, where he was employed for 40 years.  Mr. Carter died in 1951.

Mrs. Carter was a charter member and a 50-year member of the Greenwood Order of Eastern Star, No. 137.

She is survived by her daughter, and a grandson, Mauricio De Pages, Jr., both of Buenos Aires; a  brother, Clarence Greene of Park Falls; and a nephew, Orville Greene of Loyal.
