Braiser, Gerald Wayne, Jr. (? - 7 May 1961)

 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, for Gerald Wayne Brasier, Jr., 26-year-old father of three who died last Sunday afternoon at the hospital at Schilling Air Force Base, Salina, Kans.

 

Death was caused by pneumonia.  He entered the base hospital at 4 p.m. Saturday and died at 5 p.m. the following day.

 

The body was expected to arrive in Loyal Wednesday, and will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home until shortly before the services. The Rev. Norbert King will be in charge of the service, and burial will be made in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at Marshfield.

 

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Brasier, Sr., of Loyal, he had enlisted in the air force at the age of 18, and had spent eight years in the service.  He was the father of three children.

 

Brasier was married to the former Marion Barofka of Marshfield at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, O., on December 31, 1955.

 

In addition to his parents and wife, Brasier is survived by: three children, Cheryl Ann, 4; William Gerald, 3; and Brian David, three months.  Also surviving are a brother, Donald of Loyal; two sisters, Mrs. Mervin (Ardyth) Rossow of Eugene, Ore., and Mrs. Jerome (Shirley) Brecht of De Pere; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Emma Mattord of Kingsford, Mich.

Brasier, Gerald (31 Jan 1935-May 1961)

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o’clock for Airman 1/c Gerald Braiser, 26, who died of overwhelming pneumonia Sunday morning at Shilling Air Force Base Hospital at Salina, Kansas. He had entered the hospital Saturday afternoon.

The body will repose at the Myre Funeral Home until the services Friday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Rev. N. E. King will officiate and burial will be made in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield.

Airman Braiser was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Brasier in Loyal on January 31, 1935 and attended the Loyal schools. He enlisted in the Air Force on January 10, 1954 and after completing his basic training at Parks Air Force Base in California, he was stationed at Chanute Field, Rantoul, Ill, and Wright Paterson Field, Dayton, Ohio. He had been at Shilling Field since January of 1956.

He was married to the former Marion Borofka of Marshfield on December 31, 1955 at Dayton, Ohio. His wife and three children, Cheryl Ann, 4, William Gerald, 3, and Brian David < 5 months, survive him.

Other survivors include his parents, a brother, Darwin, Loyal; two sisters, Mrs. Merwin (Ardyth) Rossow, Eugene, Oregon and Mrs. Jerome (Shirley) Brecht, West Depere; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Emma Mottard, Kingsford, Michigan.
