Beyer, William (1 March 1886 - 15 May 1961)

 

Funeral services for William Beyer, 74, Rt. 3, Neillsville, were conducted Wednesday evening at 8 o’clock from the Georgas Funeral Home.  The Rev. J. C. Ruege, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Globe, officiated.  Mr. Beyer died Monday in Owen.

 

Services are also to be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday from the J. H. Becker and Sons Funeral Home in Milwaukee.  The Rev. Alfred Schewe of Immanuel’s Lutheran Church, former pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville will officiate at the Milwaukee service.  Burial will be made in Valhalla Cemetery, Milwaukee.

 

He was born March 1, 1886, in Milwaukee.  After his schooling in Milwaukee schools he worked there, then engaged in farming in the Colby area for 14 years.  He then returned to Milwaukee, and in 1952 came back to Clark County, locating on his present farm in the Town of Weston, better known as the Schoenwetter farm.  He had been in failing health for the last four years.

 

On March 8, 1924, he was married to the former Leona Baurle in Milwaukee.

 

Survivors include his wife and three children: Mrs. John (Leona) Neidhardt, Milwaukee; Alfred Beyer, Milwaukee; and William Beyer, Duluth, Minn.; also, a sister, Mrs. H. (Marie) Ebertowski, Milwaukee; and three brothers, Herman and Alfred Beyer, Milwaukee, and George Beyer, Granton; and seven grandchildren.
