Morrison, Walter Merit (30 July 1878 - 12 May 1961)

 

Walter Merit Morrison, 81, died suddenly Friday at the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. John Scheuring of rural Greenwood.  Death was attributed to a heart attack.

 

Mr. Morrison was born July 30, 1878, in Brown County.  In 1913 he came with the Scheuring family to Greenwood, where they settled on a farm five miles southwest of here, where he has resided since.  He never married.

 

Surviving is his sister, Mrs. John (Effie) Scheuring of Greenwood, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. Gene Carlson, pastor of the Grace Methodist Church, officiated.  Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were: Arthur Syth, Leo Stanley, Hugh Christie, Ernest Baughman, Arnold Thomas and Frank Pakiz.
