Those from Greenwood who represented Clark County at the Seventh district spring conference of the American Legion Auxiliary at Elroy last Thursday were: Mrs. Robert Carl, Mrs. Frances Hinker, Mrs. Myron Kenyon and Miss Louise Keiner. Mrs. Frances Hinker of Greenwood won a special prize.
The Forest Queen Royal Neighbors camp met recently with 18 members present. Mrs. Lawrence Cox presided.
It was announced that the Clark County Royal Neighbor Convention will be held June 1 in Withee Junior High School, with the Banner camp of Withee as hosts. Registration in the afternoon will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m. and from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at the Nazareth Lutheran Church at 5:30 p.m. A school in instructions will be held in the afternoon. The Forest Queen camp will exemplify the "Welcoming of a transfer member."
Following the business meeting, games were played. Prizes were merited by Mrs. Minnie Cox, Mrs. Adelbert Wells and Louise Keiner. A lunch was served by Mrs. May Clendenning, Mrs. George Caliebe and Mrs. Earl Caliebe.
Word has been received that Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kreie and daughters, Marilyn and Lou Ann of Merrill, will leave July 25, for their new home at Lucknow, in the upper province of India, bordering Nepal and near the Himalayas.
Mr. Kreie, who has been manager of the associated Co-op service at Merrill for the last 15 years, has been engaged by the Agricultural Mission Co-operative Society of New York as a technical advisor of the Co-operative of India. He will work in the Indian villages.
The Kreies are well known here. She is the former Ruth Neuenschwander, the daughter of Robert Neuenschwander of Athens and her husband is the son of Adolph Kreie of Deer Creek.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Funke of New Holstein and their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Snyder of Cedarburg, spent the weekend here. They left Sunday evening, accompanied by Mrs. Funke’s mother, Mrs. O. J. Amundson, who returned Monday from New Holstein.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Humke and daughter, Julie, returned to Green Bay Sunday after spending several days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Humke and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Kenyon. Saturday they helped celebrate the birthday of Mr. Kenyon.
Victor Wagner and son, Billy, Mrs. Gerald Denk and Mrs. Catherine Schmitz spent Sunday in Sparta. Billy remained for a visit at the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lyon.
Mrs. Frieda Ampe entertained at a card party at her home one (missing lines) .
